Watercolor Challenge

Today I did the watercolor challenge. I thought this was a perfect picture for it because it looks like a scene you would find in a painting. (The original picture is on the left)

Me and Myself

This is the first picture I completed for the Me and Myself project. I like it because the older me fits into the old picture almost perfectly. I used the SUV on the right as a reference for how tall I should be. I like this but I think I'll also do another one where the current me is more of a subject.

Inspiration

http://lightpaintingphotography.com/light-painting-artist/featured-artist-2/troy-paiva/
I found this artist when I was looking for ideas for my own light painting project. His pictures are interesting because they're in deadpan settings and have that vibe, but there are flashes of bright color too. I think the contrast between the emotion in the subject and location and the bright lights in spots makes the pictures really unique and interesting. I also enjoy both of those styles but I really likethe middle ground that this photographer found.

Light Paintings

This week I've been working on editing my light painting pictures. This was a hard project because it involved a specific time of day and I had to work quickly to make light trails within the shutter speed that I set.

Inspiration Post

http://www.humansofnewyork.com/

This is a popular street photography and interview page that I've loved for a few years now. I like the simplicity and how everyone looks candid in the pictures. I also love the concept of combining an interview with the pictures because it makes it so much more personal.

Del Mar

I like this picture because it's from a unique vantage point. I had to be careful with my camera and make sure it was in the perfect place to get a shot but stay dry.

Baby Feet

This is a picture I took of my mom's friends newborn. I like it because without even seeing the baby's face, it tells a story.

Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park

This is one of my favorite pictures from spring break and I was editing it today. I was on a road trip in Big Sur and my dad and I stopped at this cove. The color of the water was so unique and it was probably one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Over Processed Photoshop Challenge

Today's project was a photoshop challenge to create a gritty, over processed effect. I chose this picture of my sister because I thought the content of it fit with the edits I was making. It was a quick and pretty easy challenge but it taught me about new adjustments I hadn't used before.

Weekly Inspiration

I first found this photographer doing a Photographer of the Month first semester. I love the lifestyle and locations that his pictures show. This is my inspiration post because I would love to live in Portland and explore nature with my friends like he does one day.

Deadpan Portrait

This is a portrait I've been working on this week that I'm very proud of. I love the simplicity and composition of it. Usually this particular model doesn't let me photograph her so I was glad I got to capture this picture of her.
